Adding GPRS facility

i would like to add GPRS facility to a I/O device

that I/O device is having 8 universal inputs,8 discrete digital inputs,4 analogue outputs, and 8 digital outputs.

it is also some sort of controller

i would like to know in what manner i have to continue my task.

There are GPRS modules from SIEMENS or SONY ERICSSON and others which can be implemented as a PLCC or BGA-chip, they have own intelligence and are sometimes sold with the attribute "wireless CPU", often based on 8051-designs.

More detailde information is only possible when you tell us more about your hardware which has to be extended with GPRS functionality.

sorry for late reply

my requirement is changed now

my team member is doing the basic i/o controller.....

i have to test the GPRS section.

i would like to setup a testing GPRS circuit using PIC microcontroller (serial communication)

since i don't have experience in detailed design i would like to know about interfacing of GPRS module to microcontroller
