New Electronic Project: Specific Digital Logic Family?

02/25/2008 6:51 AM

I´m doing a common electronic circuit that must work inner strongs and variables magnetics fields. Beside usual electric and magnetic shields i would like to consider at CR4 Forum what digital logic family will work better: TTL or CMOS digital logic family?

Either will work OK. How complicated is the circuitry?

Randall. Thanks for your answer. Realy, there are not any difficulty with circuitry. It´s only a single decade counter. In the course of tree months it seems that 74LS174 (TTL) works better than CD 4017 (CMOS) inside magnetics variables fields at environment temperature. Otherwise, we would like to work only with CMOS family in our equipments. We realized that we lost "clock" signal about six time at least with CD 4017. We must "reset' the decade counter in order to get its regular function. Fernando / Acquaway.

Would putting a 74HC14 Schmidt buffer (hysteresis) in the clock line help.

Or is that going to mess up your power supplies like the TTL. How about a CD40106:-

Randall. It is a good idea to have a CD40106BC in the circuit. We will do that. Thanks very much. Fernando
