dry curing

02/23/2008 5:49 AM

Hi All

We know that when a substance coated with water based latex is heated

in an oven containing "natural gas burners" then evaporation of water starts.

So water molecules (from latex and burning of natural gas) accumulates in the oven.

So it retards the evaporation of water and then drying/curing would complete

in much large time .This also results in loss of heat energy .

Such an oven contains a small hole to exhaust extra water vapours but not enough

so rapidly .To accelerate the drying we will have to remove water vapours rapidly .

Is there any dessicant chemical available to absorb water vapours rapidly at high

temperatures.

You could preheat the material on an open rack? Before curing in oven?
