In October of last year, I made a trip to Ecuador. Guayaquil, Cuenca, Loja. My main reason was to see if it is a good retirement place, a good place generally, and to see if I can start a business, over-there, for the remaining years before retiring.

Why Ecuador? It was listed as a good place for investment for retiring.

Well, a colleague of mine in college, was the rector of the Guayaquil Polytechnic. He, and other high ranking professors advised me that it is not just the time to start a business. I asked around, I talked with business owners in Guayaquil and Cuenca and the idea was the same. Then, from newspapers, I could see the orientation of Mr. President Correa, a socialist, friend of Mr. President Chavez.

So after one week, I left Ecuador with some regrets, because I liked the country and people.

From your posting I understand that you are an investor, you are looking for both technologies for manufacturing LED and, also for applications. Perhaps hiring an electronic engineer will help in answering some questions.
