How do you know when a bearing insert is put into a housing,all the way in?

You know when the bearing stops moving.

if you are doing it by hand, that is, tighteneing a nut or screw then you will definetly know as the screw or nut starts to be faily tight. If you can see the bearing, then this is a bonus. Better still use a depth guage and measure where the top of the bearing should end up when installed and then you know that if it starts to get tight or hard to keep pushing then you probably have bottomed out.
