what is the correct type of packing material & appropiate steps to repacking/packing a gear pump??????IN A STEEL MILL, THE GEAR PUMP PUMS OIL FOR THE ROLL BALANCE...........

It depends on how heavy the gear pump is (you don't say how big the roll balance is). I would mount the gear pump securely to a wooden base and then use bubble wrap (or similar) as a filler when packing the gear pump into a cardboard box for transport or storage. Of course sturdier packaging would be required if the gear pump is very heavy (or transport is expected to be a little rough), in which case a full wooden box or pallet would be much better.

If you are packing for storage, then shrink-wrapping the gear pump (and its sturdy wooden support) should be considered as you have mentioned it pumps oil. Obviously you would ensure that the gear pump is clean before packing (especially if you are sending the gear pump to a customer), but that is just common sense.
