-What will happens if there is to much oxygen applied to a torch?

"What do you do before welding a container that contains gas?" What kind of gas? Acetylene, hydrogen = much prayer + big insurance policy for the widow to be. Nitrogen = open the vent

"-What will happens if there is to much oxygen applied to a torch?" FOOP

"-What type of flame is best for just fusing two materials together?" Shirley you jest. Is this homework?

Hardly enough info given to properly anser the question, but when i worked removing underground storage tankes, we used dry ice to vacate any potentially dangerous fumes and make the air/gas space of the tank inert.

Hello Guest,

A) It depends on what your "Gas" is.

  • It in US, then is the "Gas" gasoline = petrol"?
  • If it is an actual gas, entirely dependent on what actual gas:
  • Carbon Monoxide = normally no trouble.
  • Hydrogen = Do not attempt.
  • And so on.....

We used to fil container with water, or steam them for a couple of hours before attempting welding/gas cutting.

B) The flame blows out with a funny noise, and flammable gas issues forth, unburnt, plus excess Oxygen, so quickly turn off gas supply, before the big bang.

C) Depends on what gases you are using, and what materials you are welding, and where you are doing the job - Underwater requires Oxygen/Hydrogen to maintain the flame/cutting lance under water.

Kind Regards....
