Hello Guest,

I presume you intended LED rather than led.

LED = Light Emitting Diode.

led = being pulled, encouraged, or drawn towards some person or thing.

A LED Array is one or more LED's in close proximity, used for a special purpose.

A LED Lamp consists of a single LED, inside a fitting, designed to emit light, for signalling or other purposes.

Kind Regards....

To add to what Sparky just said, they are making out of arrays of LED's replacements for incandescent light bulbs, to replace the 12V, 24Vdc and 120Vac. They have the same light intensity (the color temperature can be adjusted) but a much less consumption.

LED array is used for display boards to interface with microprocessor or controller .

LED lamps canbe made by connecting LEDs serialiy or in parallel .cathode of one is connected to anode of second,is called serial.connecting all anodes with +ve of supply & cathodes with -ve ,is called parallel.

Hello Guest,

Serial connections of LED's is inadvisable.

The reason is that no two are identical.

This means that in a series circuit, one unit will have a higher internal resistance than the others, thus have greater voltage across it, thus burn out earlier.

The problem of series circuits with batteries, LED's, Diodes, and other apparatus has been well known for many years.

In the case of Diodes, a Network of resistors in parallel/series connection acts as a voltage divider to equalise voltages, but this is regarded as not generally practical for a series LED string.

Kind Regards....
