Tests on Light Distribution Board (LDB)

02/28/2008 4:43 AM

Please tell me what are the tests to be performed on LDB (Industrial) before putting it to the operation. Few of them I know 1) High voltage test 2) Insulation resistance test. If there are more tests which are essential or optional, let me know

thanks

Hello achawla77

I presume you are in a manufacturing position.

Add the following:

  1. Metal Forming quality
  2. Dimensions test - remember some sites require Metric, some imperial measure.
  3. Paint thickness test
  4. Visual testing
  5. All parts separately tested before assembly
  6. Operations tests
  7. Full function test
  8. There are other tests, which readers may add below....

Kind Regards....

Continuation test and most imporatant Infrared Scanning. Load the network at full for a minimum of a week, use IR Scanner that reads above ambient, scan all components daily. I am sure you will detect hot spots, mainly loose connections or cheap quality components, fix it and you are ok. Exergen Microscanner 'E' or Super E are the best.

If LDB controls outdoor lights/street lights, I will suggest to check switching of lights by ' auto twilight' citcuits.
