Teeny Tiny Nano ... Metalworking!

05/27/2006 7:00 AM

A team of international scientists have found a way to bombard "a carbon nanotube with electrons, causing it to collapse with such incredible force that it can squeeze out even the hardest of materials, much like a tube of toothpaste." A press release from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute states that this new research can be used to manipulate and process metals at the scale of atoms and molecules and that "the results also demonstrate the impressive strength of carbon nanotubes against internal pressure, which could make them ideal structures for nanoscale hydraulics and cylinders."

All missiles have Carbon fibers at their tip. Nano tubes are now guiding x-ray beams. Future is unlimited for this bulletproof natural structure.

Stealth bomber is Carbon fiber.

It is the Hydrocarbon muscles that WWF fellows use to bend steel.
