Look at

www.pelletpros.com

I've no knowledge of the company, but they seem to be about what you want.

There are few machines that small. The most common small mill for making pellets that I know of is called a Master Mill made by CPM (maybe 400 lbs per hr). They are older machines that you can find used. Freedom Equipment SW of Chicago and Contential Agra out of Kansas are the bigger two selling used machines. You will also need some other equipment. This may not be worth it for a few tons a month.

I just got a quote back from Freedom Equipment for their smallest pelletizer, a used 2HP unit for $14,500. Not sure of the output though.

They are good people at Freedom but they are still in business to make money. That seems steep. Might be a good tool for a research lab but not commercially viable. There 30-40 hp CPM Master mill would cost about the same and it should pelletize 300-500 lbs per hour.

As far as size goes a 100 hp mill will produce 1 ton of pellets per hour. If you slip in some corn oil you may get 2400 lb per hour. The correlation is similiar as you down grade but not exact.

Remember all particle size of the feedstock must be smaller than the diameter of the pellet.

I saw some smaller pellet machines in Farm Show magazine recently that would do this much production.

I would not recommend anything less than 100hp for wood and neither does CPM...anything smaller just wont hold up www.freedomequipment.com has them, be wary of any of the chinese units out there...also keep in mind rule of thumb in the industry is 100hp per ton / hr
