Calculating the Volume M3 from Q/h 32 point data set

03/01/2008 3:50 PM

How can I calculating the volume from a Q/H curve given the Flow (l/s)to head (mm)32 point dataset.

I have 2 different Q/h curves for the same installation measured by an Ultrasonic system through a rectangular flume.

One set has been installed for 3 years and the other has been produced after an indepth survey of the installation.

I need to compare the flows and calculate the volumetric difference between the 2 datasets as a percentage.

Check this manual page 25 or so.

http://www.hitechtech.com/EchoTrekManual.PDF

They show several weir configurations and the math to calculate flow rates. That should help you.

Various ultrasonic level meters have on-board algorithms to convert head to flowrate in open-channel configurations for various shapes and heights of weir. It is simply a case of entering the correct parameters intot he instrument, and the output will then be linear to flowrate. Do you have a copy of the user manual for the equipment in question? If so, then what does it say?
