Shirt Monitors Vital Signs

05/31/2006 10:55 AM

Using a nanotechnology-based conductive fiber grid, the SmartShirt can monitor the movement, heart rate, and respiration of the wearer in real time. The shirts are fully washable and wireless compatible so that the data can be retrieved remotely. Applications include health care, sports training, security and defense. The company is also working on a model capable of capturing EKGs.

"This is Ben's Shirt. He needs help."

I'm waiting for this technology to be married to GPS/Wireless technology. That way if something happens to me my shirt can call 911 for help. Kind of like a wearable OnStar.
Let me be able to talk on the cellphone as a bonus feature and you have a killer app.
