Big Fans

05/31/2006 12:15 PM

Four very large fans were recently installed in a local horse show arena, the dimensions of which are about 175' W X 250' L X 75' H. The original ventilation system consists of 6 common 6' fans mounted in the gables on each end of the building, but they just plain weren't effective for creature comfort. Along comes Big Ass Fans with just the right kind of fan to solve the problem: A 2 HP, 24' diameter, 10-bladed monster ceiling fan that moves 300,000 cubic feet of air per minute at a mere 43 RPM, meaning that the four move 1,200,000 CFM in an arena which has a volume of about twice that much, resulting in higher comfort and a nice breeze which the participants and fans can actually feel.
