Altec Headset's Mic not working

03/06/2008 11:18 AM

I have Altec Lansing AHS423 Stereo Behind-the-neck folding headset (AHS423) which is causing some trouble as:

The MIC is not working properly. On further investigation I found that the control for MIC for mute, high, medium volume is not working properly which is a resistor. So I opened up the control and could find 5 point each for input and output in the Control of Headset. The Headset control contains the control for both earphone and mic. If I want to surpass the resistor(mic control) and make direct connection of input to output for mic which are the points to connect? I am looking for a circuit diagram if possible. I tried taking out the resistor but it will probaly break the miniature circuit board. Please suggest the way out.
