cable sizing for a VSD fed motor?

03/10/2008 6:56 AM

What are the factors to be considered while selecting cable for a VSD fed motor? (PS: (factors other than Ampacity, voltage drop, laying conditions, are expected))

Hi,

"VSD fed motor" is not clear. Do you mean Variable frequency drive (VFD)

Hi,

Yes Sir I meant the same, A Variable Frequency Drive.

How much oversizing is required (if required ?) for cable connected to such drive, to compensate for higher or lower operating frequencies.

Regards,

Vikas
