microprocessor instructed telephone

can i make a phone call from a telephone conected to 8086 microprocessor .i want this telephone to be instructed from the micrprocessor and the the telephone be connected to 8255 i/o port

wouldn't it be better taking the 8086 uP and selling it?

I heard once that NASA was looking for those devices?

Use a P4 (cheap enough these days) sound card (better than trying to scratch design a sound board) and download the software from say Sourceforge or FSF or some place like that.. then get into looking at Internet telephony/VoIP installations ;o)
