Hello Guest,

The best advice I can give you is to abandon use of Internet Explorer.

Internet Explorer is incompatible with many websites.

The reason for that, is Microsoft decided to use its own standards, instead of the open-source standards available to all.

So, go here: http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/products/firefox/

Download Firefox Browser, with optional add-ons, all free and no malware.

Do what hundreds of millions of computer users have done, reject IE, love and use Firefox.

Kind Regards....

PS. You have a good all round background.

Hello again "Guest",

Send me a screen shot, please.

Advise whether PC or MAC.

Advise Operating System.

If there is no colour at all, on your screen, perhaps there are various causes:

  1. Faulty graphics card.
  2. Faulty Graphics RAM.
  3. Using Black & White monitor.
  4. Malware in Computer.
  5. Incorrect settings for your Monitor.
  6. Other - yet to be defined.

If there is ANY Colour on your Monitor, advise when, what applications show colour, and further useful information.
Reply here, with

Kind Regards....

Hello again symvoulos_CT

Your picture is only half the screen, and once I saved the tiny picture here, and rotated it 90 degrees to the right, to see what it was, then expanded it somewhat, I can see that in fact you do have colour available.

If you try MS Paint program, can you actually get various colours in a sketch drawing you make?

In your tiny picture, when expanded, I can see that you have red, blue, yellow colours, showing, so it does appear that your Monitor and graphics card are working quite OK.

You can download the free Nokia test Utility, which can test any monitor with any version of MS Windows, right here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download960.html

CAN YOU READ THIS PICTURE TEXT IN COLOUR BELOW?

Advise by return Post, please.

Kind Regards....

Good Evening Workstation and thank you for respond, i can see all the Pictures you send me , the screen is new but the problem old i think this may be internet setting because it seems to be the main cause. if you send your e-mail to info@symvoulos.net i can send you a bigger pict.

But please forgive me, but today i found the right word " transparency" for example lets say you reply to my massage and you are angry about the trouble i caused. You make a spelling error and the spell checker respond. If you try to open the spell-checker above, the opened windows are transparent, any window i open in the internet, google, mozilla, all except my window in the garden are T R A N S P A R E N T. over a text a right click on my mouse the window that opens to give you the selections (copy, paste, etc. works fine) the same click in this particular frame is TRANSPARENT TO The word document are black/white and i do not see the text color, the same doc. printed in pdf. appears in color , power point is ok. I'm so desperate. I have so much work to do, i can't effort to be 24h without my PC. i brought a guy "Professional" he could not find the reason but he found 120$ in his pocket. At the moment i can't effort another service !!!!

Get a kiwi before work and give me a last try!

thanks sparkstation

Don't listen to these people that constantly "advise" you to switch to firefox, opera or some other second rate browser. I have tried them all and found them all to be 1. slower and 2. more prone to allow attacks on your system. There is a ton of anti MS sentiment out there which is nothing more than what is known in most industries ar "not invented here syndrome". It simply means "I didn't invent it so it can't be any good."

The only reason I like Firefox is that there is no limit to the text size, and I don't see too good. Otherwise I.E. 7 is fine but it only gives you 3 text sizes and I hate changing my screen properties.

As to our friends problem, incorrectly overclocking the video card can account for the symptoms.

I need more information about this machine in order to diagnose it.

Okay, let's roll up our sleeves, send out for beer and pizza and go to work,

Go through the first page of the link below:

http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/view.php?cid=3&id=2303

Read a bit then scroll down to the bottom of the page. There you will find "Update Drivers Instantly". This is a "for pay" service. I think the problem is in the video card. I would start by updating the driver. If the problem still persists, get a new card. Save all the packaging and the receipt. Install the new card and requisite drivers and utilities.

If that solves the problem, there you go. If it doesn't solve the problem you have 30 days to return the new card.

Another way to check may be to (make sure you have your mother board install disk) uninsatall and remove the card. Boot into BIOS and enable the on-board video device. Boot up and goto work testing using various programs i.e. Word, a low, mid and high end graphics game, etc. Again, if you come up clean you've got a bad card if not reinstall the card and try different slots (I know, but sometime it works).

At this point I pull the cord, stop the train and find someone who knows more than I do, which, fortunately, isn't difficult.

BTW, how old is the card? How much resident ram?

I'll keep mulling this over.

Best of luck, oh cyber-warrior. Dive valiantly into that case, and, whatever else, keep me posted.

Okay take a breath.

You got a new screen, did you reset the resolution? Have tried "Help and Support" feature? Have you tried contacting Acer support and what did they say? Have you updated windows?

The first thing I need is as much information about your system as possible.

Go to this site:

http://www.theonesoftware.com/

Download 'Computer Inventory (client) (freeware)'

install and run the program.

Cut and paste the info onto an e-mail and send it either here or to a_blum_1@yahoo.com.

I will be able to better diagnose the problem with this info.

Hello again, symvoulos_CT

But if it is as you appear to say, the colour absence only occurs when using an Internet Browser, it may be caused by a problem Software = Virus, Worm, Trojan, Spyware, Adware, Malware etc in your Computer.

Please advise what Security Software you use:

A) Firewall

B) Anti-Malware

C) Anti-Virus

D) Anti-Trojan

E) Other - Specify please.

F)_Advise how often you run full scans of the above.

G) Advise if you have Security Software running 24/7, on a "Guard" basis, so that if a bad file comes along, it is immediately quarantined.

Looking forward to your reply

Kind Regards....
