Power Electronics

03/25/2008 7:03 PM

I need a little help. OK a lot of help. I am looking to source a DC to DC converter or regulator or an equal schematic. I have a variable input from 160 VDC to 320 VDC. I need a constant 400VDC output at 100 amps. I have searched and can not find anything close to what I am looking for and was hoping someone could help me out.

If I need to I can up the voltage in to 400 VDC to 800 VDC but would prefer not to do this. If it would be easier to work with these voltages and just limit the incoming voltage to 400VDC, I have that options.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

A motor and a generator coupled together would achieve this, though it's probably a bit 'old hat' these days. Surely there's a switched-mode power supply of some sort that would achieve what this poster wants to do?

If the huge power needed, M and G is still a way to implement.

I guess what he required is switched power supply

AC-DC.

Ac rectifier-pwm-rectifiier.

40kw is still a large power one.
