Ground Fault Detect

04/02/2008 4:25 PM

I am designing ground fault circuit on the board. On the board I have few different DC power supply and comm is shared between all power supply. If I have to design ground fault detection how can I do it? or is it possible?

What sort of circuitry are you talking about...high power? Microcontrollers? You need to tell us more.

You can sense the current in the 0v return lines by measuring the voltage drop.

The clever thing is to design it so you can't get faults...rather than trying to sense them.. or do you mean faults 'off board'?

Remenber we are not psychic.... you know what you work on every day...we don't
