The Nation Electrical Code book, which governs the craftmanship/ installation of electrical work in the USA is one of the best resource journals to gather your information. I do not have one here in front of me at this work station, otherwise I would have given you the cable size you will require for your installation. You can go to a commercial wholesaller of electrical materials and the shop engineer can help calculate your needs. Good Luck, Lord Maximo

You may want to use bus bar, with silver plating to reduce heating and corrision.

Generator Feed

06/27/2006 4:42 PM

Ken,
6-600 mcm Cu. (75 c. rated), cable will handle the load,
but with a 30 M. initial run, voltage drop may be a factor
in a low voltage, (under 600V.), system if your secondary
distribution runs are lengthy.
What voltage?
How long are your secondary feeders?
If this turns out to be a factor, you might find that
you can save overall by beefing up the initial feeder
rather than being forced to beef up the secondaries.
