CABLE JOINTS & TERMINATION

The step by step procedure will be included with the termination. Otherwise check the manufacturer's website for those instructions.

The cable jointing is a job of skill and should be done only by a competent and trained cable jointer. How ever I can give you some guide lines.

1) You must ensure that the kit is suitable to your voltage and size of the cable.Manufacturers provide these details with the jointing kit.

2) The manufacturers provide a check list of the items which you must verify before starting the job.

3) Must use a sharp knife ( special cable jointer's knife is available),LPG gas torch.and proper cleaning cloths and solvents.

4) The outer sheath , armour, inner sheath,should be cut exactly as per the dimension as per the instruction given with th kit. Manufacturers specify that.

5) You should use only the solvent supplied with the kit for cleaning.

6) Adjust the torch to obtain a soft blue flame with yellow tip.

7) The stress control tubing should not be cut.

These are only some important precautions.You should entrust the job only to an expert or manufacturers jointer as a bad termination will be a cause of breakkdown. .
