Gas Mixing Solution

04/07/2008 9:55 PM

Hello, I am looking for a solution for mixing two different gases (nitrogen and hydrogen, comming from gas cylinders). The hydrogen content should be around 5% (3% to 8%). The inlet and outlet pressures are up to 100psi and the flow rate is ca. 200 l/s often switching between no and max flow. Do you have idea for a supplier of a mixing valve or a different solution? Thanks, Jan

Gas mixing valves?, seems too obvious.

Hi,

there exist a lot of gas flow rate controllers, any vacuum company is offering these,

these are servo controlled units having a valve controlled orifice, electronics included, so a 0 to 10V command signal sets the gas flow rate (irrespective of pressure level).

Different ranges are available, suitable gasket materials for the different gases.

These units are widely used in semiconductor manufacturing and vacuum coating.

I had very good experience with "Lasermotion" (used equipment) and with "Advanced Energy" (new equipment).

You could also use some critical orfices to deliver the flow you needed. Critical orfices can be obtained from Environmental Supply in Durham, NC.

Hi,

please check www.wittgas.com.

From the data in your question I assume that you will need a gas mixer connected to a buffer vessel (because you have changes in the gas delivery rate). Witt should be able to supply one of their standard models for your application.
