Hello nekpri

Your question is unclear.

Do you have polypropylene boxes?

Or is the tape made of polypropylene?

kind Regards....

Multiple wraps and layers. The more the tape the better the tensile strength.

The function of using cold work to increase tensile strength and more particularly the yield strength to tensile strength ratio has been understood by material scientists in north america for many years. Just put a small amount of cold reduction onto the strapping coming out of your machine, just like it was wire.

As others have noted, changing the material , adding structure through embedded fibers and other methods are possible. Finally, improving the quality of your feedstock to prevent entrained contaminants from weakening the section is another pointthat is overlooked by and usually root caused by the purchasing dept.' accountiing penny pinchers.

finally, make sure that your gage is consistent on the strand. What is your process control Cpk for the final dimensions?

You might try obtaining a license for this process:

Some very good advice was given by Milo. I'd also like to add the following ideas. Are you dealing with a breakage problem or are you trying to modify the material characteristics? If it's a breakage problem, find the root cause such as joint breakage (is the joiner at right bonding temperature ?). Or are you trying to deal with a situation where the straps are being damaged in use?

Increase the cross sectional thickness of the tape (or banding).

Easy! Tell the customer to double up on them when strapping. Then sell them the necessary extra tape. The old bundle and reed proverb, you might say.
