Standard Test Value for MV Power cables

Dear All

Could you told me what is the standard test for MV (20KV) power cables ? what is the minimum value that still accept to operation such as :

- Insulation resistance

- Hi Pot

- Partial Discharge

- Dissipation Power Factor Tangent Delta

Dear Friend

Which test do you mean? Type test, Sample test or Routine test? It is better for you to read IEC 60502-2 if this standard is applicable for your project.

Standard acceptance testing for new electrical equipment is:

(2E + 1,000). 2 x (equipment voltage rating) + 1,000 volts.

This is for new equipment and is not acceptable for used equipment that may have dry and/or damaged/fatigued insulation conditions. Follow the test equipment manufacturer's recomendations very closely. If you are not absolutely sure what you are doing, consult a certified test facility for their input and guidance. If you apply too high of test voltage, the equipment will fail.
