NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE

04/19/2008 9:54 AM

Dear Sir,

We need to analyse oil content and moisture content in sunflower seed and other edible oil seeds instantly. Will using NMR(Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) help us? What will be the time taken to analyse the the sample? If so where can I get a portable NMR instrument? What will be the accuracy ?Is this a costly product? How does this technology differs from that of NIR(Near Infra Red) technology?

Sorry you can't. They are big machines and even if you had a small sensor array the refrigeration and power systems would keep it from being even close to portable.

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/05/070515165048.htm this will get you more information.

Also the 1.5 to 3 Tesla fields are dangerous if not handled properly.
