Short to ground calculation

04/22/2008 2:39 PM

Do you know the math in order to calculate the voltage raise in the other phases of a delta-delta power transformer when a short to ground occurs ? . For example, in the secondary, one leg of a 440 VAC 3 phase shorts one phase to ground. What voltage I will see in the another 2 phases ?. Take note the the secondary is NOT grounded. Primary voltage is 23 KV.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like another homework question to me... am I wrong?

guest. your phase to phase voltage would not change by grounding one phase. you could use single phase disconnects, that is fusible 2 pole switches with 1 phase grounded. and you would still have 3 phase power. perry
