What is the Main Process Line in P&ID

05/08/2008 10:16 PM

Different companies have not the same concept on Main Process for P&I D, Some companies just defined the products process or main by-products process stream as the main process shown as BOLD LINE. May I please ask you what and how to define this comcept (or shown as Bold Line in P&ID)?

Thanks a lont

We get a lot of children here trying to get someone to do their homework. Sparkstation's question was not rude or snotty, but your response was Jlong.

If this is a homework assignment, say so. You will still get help in the form of pointing you in the right direction; just not the outright answer handed to you on a silver platter.

If you want to get support you should respect those whom you put the question

There is no one correct answer to this outside the academic world.

The only thing that matters is the convention adopted by the organization using the P&ID. Even then, most organizations probably never tried too hard to define the term. Where I work, we don't define, or make bold, any main process lines

I saw this question was posted awhile ago, but I thought someone might stubble upon this again one day so to answer your question I found this https://www.lucidchart.com/pages/what-is-piping-and-instrumentation-diagram to be really helpful. Good luck to the next soul who needs this question answered.
