PID Controller

What is the output of a proportional controller for zero error? What is output of a PID contoller for zero error?

What is the difference between a compensator and a contoller?

Dear,

Proportional or PI or PID controllers work on the basis of process feedback and compare it with the setpoint thereby giving you the error. so at constant zero error the process output will cease to zero based upon the time gain as the controller is not seeing any change in the error.
