Gas volume and pressure from Yeast

05/14/2008 10:49 AM

Hello,

I am working on a release pressure valve for yeast product. What I am looking for is the amount and pressure of gas from yeast. Then I would be able to design the valve large enough to prevent the liner bag from bursting.

Thanks, Jurgen

The amount of pressure can be enormous!!

Take a champagne cork out to see what pressures yeast can build up to...

However the rate of CO2 production is slow (ish) so the pressure relief valve would only need to be small.

John.
