Pneumatic Tube Elevators

Chef LB writes:
Pneumatic tube vacuum elevators. No wires, no cables. Check it out!

And here's a video of it in use (MPEG).

My only question: Do you still get to enjoy elevator music?

Free Bird

The man in the elevator looked like he enjoyed his trip, but I bet he was listening to the musak version of "Free Bird".

Banking

05/09/2005 9:04 AM

Nice to see 1970's bank technology being put to creative and productive use in modern homes. I used to love it when my mom let me put the capsule into the tube.
Anyone remember when companies had these tubes to distribute mail before e-mail was invented?

I wasn't alive in 1880's so I never got to play with them. I still miss the old fashioned elevators with the guy in the hat and metal grating on the front. It always made the trip up the 3 floors to children's clothes much more adventurous.
