For measurement of AC and DC currents, use of shunts and current transformers limits accuracy at higher currents. It is reported that the solid state device wattmeter,(germanium diode / transistor etc)is preferred choice in such cases (of measurement of higher currents).
Can someone clarify how this is achieved?
