Weatherproof enclosure

Appreciate if anyone could explain to me the definition of weatherproof enclosure for the diesel engine generator set and what is the IP rating for this type of enclosure. Thanks

Try this.

One wouldn't want IP68 to contain a diesel engine; how would it exhaust and cool, for instance, at that rating?

The enclosure for diesel engine generator is an optional item as specified by manufacturers. It is used for sound proofing and weather proof protection to install the generator out door. Enclosures are used for vehicle mounted portable generating sets. Some manufacturers provide IP23 protection.One can opt for protection as per the requirement of location/ site of installation and custom made.The basic requirement is sound and weather proof enclosure to minimise sound pollution and install outdoor with protection against rain and snow.
