Spice software

05/27/2008 10:59 AM

Hi

Does anyone know of any spice software for modeling AC ccts. I know there is heaps of software out there that can model small signal ac ccts but am looking for something to model slightly higher current systems. The problem I find with most spice software is that you can specify good ac voltage ac sources, eg 220vRMS 60hz

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Tom

If you are looking to model AC systems, you may wish to investigate EMTP. Electro-Magnetic Transients Program. You will want to check out Dr. Meyers version called ATP.

http://www.emtp.org/ Licensing to use ATP is free of all charge for all who have not engaged in EMTP commerce. (from the website)

There is also a commercial version that will cost you thousands of dollars.

http://www.emtp.com/ ($$$$)

I used Dr. Meyers ATP-EMTP to do my simulation for my masters thesis. I was simulating a resonant three-phase inverter. The program works well and I recommend you check out the first link to see if this program will work for you.

Good luck with your quest.

Go to www.tier-2-innovation.com and see if microcap9 can help. The evaluation version is free but limited.
