I have been searching on Google for the past three weeks to absolutely no avail. What I am looking for is a product (something that I could actually purchase) that would add resistance to the steering and even-out rapid wheel movements. I have found several good articles on the uses of such a product, but I cannot find a vendor who actually sells anything like this. For instance, one article I read spoke of (found in this article):
"....application areas for MR fluids include vibration control in domestic appliances such as washing machines; force-feedback (haptic) input devices for personal computers such as joysticks, steering wheels and mice....."
They also started speaking of this:
"Recently, a new way of using MR fluids in which the fluid is contained in an absorbent matrix has been developed. Such 'MR sponge' devices enable low-cost, controllable fluid applications by eliminating the need for most of the high-cost components normally associated with a fluid filled device."
There is a high-quality wheel out on the market which uses a fluid-dampened system to help even out oversteer, etc. This is similar to what I am looking for, but I do not want to infringe on what they have done. This is also strictly for my own benefit, because put quite simply - I cannot afford the product for the price they are asking. I am simply trying to find something suitable for a DIY home project. The product I am referring to is this (scroll 3/4 the page to where it describes the "FLDS" system):
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
