2002 toyota celica P1725 OBDII code

05/29/2008 6:48 PM

Hey guys,

My wifes car has been having troubles, took it to auto zone and had the car scanned for engine codes.

they told me it was P1725.

the car is a 2002 toyota celica gts auto trans. the car does not shift smoothly and seems to be in too low of a gear when traveling at highway speeds, thus the engine is working harder. any ideas?

So when was the last time you guys had that auto trans serviced?

Sounds like the unit could use a real good wash down and a new filter screen.

I am not sure how tough the Toyota auto trans are compaired to American trans, but with all these new electronic units, one can never be too carefull on not doing the maint. Some of these pick-up sensors are magnetic, and if your sensor has an accumilation of crude, it will hinder the usage of such an item. Good luck with the clean up.

I have my own OBDII reader.

It spells out what the codes mean right underneath code reading. It scrolls across the bottom of the display.

If you were miss firing on a cylinder it even tells you which cylinder is misfiring.

I only paid $128 for it.
