Dissolved Oxygen Sensor

06/05/2008 5:12 AM

I am conducting a experimental study in a sludge treatment plant and I would nedd to measure on-line the dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration in the mixed liquor. The problem is that the process operates at temperatures within the range 55-70 ºC.

Does somebody knows a DO sensor that meets this specification? I addition, the DO sensor must provide an analog output interface (e.g., 4-20 mA) because I would need to monitor the DO from a PLC.

Thanks in advance.

Provided the sensor and transmitter can be separated, so that the transmitter does not exceed 60degC (ouch!) then the Rosemount 54e is worth a look (usual disclaimer) and maybe a phone call or two?

PW..I'm a bit concerned that you may need re-calibrating...

I consider 80oC to be 'ouch' 60oC is merely 'ooooh' (or is that too many 'o's?)
