Where are Distance Relays Used?

Distance relays are used for distance protection for more that 200 m.It works on the principle of Impedance drop Z=V/I.As we know cable impedance drop in case of any fault.This diffference in Impedance will pick up relay.Basically Impedance relay and Mho relay are used for Distance protection.
