Please clarify. What industry? What material(s)? Size(s)? By "safe" are you talking about protecting workers from multi-ton loads, or avoiding damage to half-ounce pieces of medical tubing? Are these made of something known as carcinogenic that workers must avoid contacting, or are they something like sausage casings, that need to be kept sterile for safety?

CASING AND TUBING HANDLING RELATED TO DRILLING AN OIL OR GAS WELL.

IT HAS TO DO WITH THE ENERGY INDUSTRY (IE)OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY, DRILLING AND COMPLETION OF OIL WELLS

I worked at a place once when younger. Their handeling rules were, "THINK" and "Work slowly so you Don't get hurt and Don't harm the materials you handle". That was it.

i not sure what you are looking for. but i am the risk manager for a casing company here in south LA. casing has some very simple rules

1. get pipe to the floor without damaging thread or people

2. dope box or pin end as required by mfg. of the threads

3. lift pipe (single joint is the best way with safety link in the rigging

4. box pipe with stabber or no stabber

5. make up pipe with power tongs (this is done at high torque so keep people out of the way if they do not need to be there.)

6 lower pipe never drop it.
