Re: remove dissolved carbon from automotive waste oil

Carbon does not dissolve in automotive oil. Carbon particles may be found in suspension.
Is this question about re-using the carbon, or re-using the automotive oil, please?
Waste automotive oil can be reprocessed to yield lubricants. It can also be used as fuel.
There are heritage railways in the UK, and among them those running on a shoestring economy, that consume waste automotive oil as a general-purpose track- and signal-mechanisms lubricant without treatment. Many are registered charities run by volunteer organisations, and some are happy to receive used automotive oil as a gift.
