Low forward power....

we have 3 diesel generator when they working, they share their loads

last time when them working one of them tripped on reverse power and when we started them again the generator protection relay GE 489 alarm (low forward power) and don't share load with the other generators.

how can i trace this problem

The behaviur of the set under examination is to be studied under independent operation.(stand alone)

If it behaves alright ,then there is some problem with load sharing module.check voltage bias signal to AVR and speed bias signal to governor.

If it does not work properly in individual mode , then check the engine operations like fuel supply,injectors,governors etc.If the Engine is alright check the alternator controls

I have given only salient points to be checked.As you go along in trouble shooting,you may hit the defect.

Dear friend

your problem is too complicated to solve heare but just as troubleshooting table :

1- work on the card in which "Droop " adjusts and study about their setting

2- work on the governor card.

3- Investigate on fuel piping and its equipments.
