Robot welding

06/23/2008 12:29 PM

Dear friends,

We intend to purchase a welding robot (Cloos, Fanuc, Motoman) for small batch of products.

What types of power supply shall be used? If power supplies we use for manual welding (Fronius TPS 4000, Lorch S-3) may be used with the robots? Are there any special power supplies for welding robots?

Best regards.

Different object or different produce line needs different shape of welding robot.

Differrent welding power requires different power supply. either ac or dc depend on your requirement.

how much power do you have?

I cannt offer the type you mentioned but I can offer you our chinese made. if you are interested in.

I would speak to your Robot supplier. There are many different welders and some are suited better for different applications. A Lincoln STT is good for low spatter but only works on thin material and has limited travel speed. The robot has to be integrated correctly to the welder chosen. The correct welder can affect the daily qty required also. Your robot supplier will help you determine this. Also be careful if you are welding aluminum as not all welders can accomplish this thru a robot with the precision of hand welding.

I have had good experiences with Motoman. They helped us select the correct system for our needs. But a word of caution, we produced auto parts and the fixtures we designed and built to hold the parts for welding cost twice as the robots.

You should try igm Austria robotic system with Fronius Austrian welding system.
