The most common way to store hydrogen is in the form of hydrocarbon chains, in other words as gasoline.

Can I put hydrocarbon chains on my car for better traction in the winter?

1 L of Hydrogen at room temperature contains 0.0107 MJ. 1 L of gasoline contains 34.6 MJ/L (assuming wiki is right). Imagine powering a car with hydrogen, it would take 3233 L of hydrogen to equal one L if gasoline. It would take some major compression to make hydrogen viable in a car, for example.

I hope my quick calcs arent wrong, but if they are, i hope someon corrects me!
