motor vibration

I need information on vibration checks for motors. products and proceedures for testing motor vibration.

Contact the motors' manufacturer and ask..

If there is no information then measure the motor weekly recording the vibration results each time.... when the motor starts to wear out these vibration results will start changing which indicates that something is wearing in the motor, and a replacement may be needed soon.

It is very detailed subject.If properly applied we can predict a failure before it happens.Vibration levels can be measured as per IEC OR BS and compared .

Do you have a local CBM company is your area, we use a company called Seaward Marine and they perform Vibration analysis all our critical motors from 900hp down to 75hp and any other motors we deem as critical, to understand this industry you really need to take the course and Emmerson's school up in Hoffman Estates Illinois.
