Stainless Steel wire mesh

Why make filter screen out of several different materials when one will do for most applications 316 stainless fits that bill. It's relatively easily woven in many different mesh sizes. The individual fibers are strong and will retain its shape as a screen well when shaped. 316 stainless is highly corrosion resistant. At -50°C other materials used for screens may be come brittle and break a part.

below a certain tempt fabic filters become brittle and will rip apart causeing more trouble.

Because it's a corrosion resistant materials and has good mechanical properties, toughness.., down to -196°C.
