Definition:
1.

part at side: a part, appendage, movement, or object at the side of something

2. phonetics

lateral consonant: a lateral speech sound, e.g. /l/ in English

3. football

sideways or backward football pass: in football, a sideways or backward pass

transitive and intransitive verb (

past and past participle lat·er·aled, present participle lat·er·al·ing, 3rd person present singular lat·er·als)

Definition:
football

pass ball sideways: in football, to pass the ball sideways or backward

[15th century. < Latin

lateralis< later- "side"]

lat·er·al·ly adverb

As far as lasolets is concerned all searches for it come up with 0. Either you are spelling it wrong or someone is pulling your chain.

Then again it may be someones vernacular for something they don't know it's proper name for, or it's in a foreign language other than English.

Could they be referring to weld-o-lets? Those are similar to saddles welded to pipe that provide an access into the system. I have not heard the term lasolet, but, maybe that refers to a line access cut by laser?

As far as laterals go, they are a piping system term for lines that run lateral to a main pipe line, generally used in reference to waste lines

I think its a specific type of weld-o-let but to connect it un centered from the main pipe (tangent to one side) I've see this fitting type somewhere designated as "latr-o-let" .

Something like that. (sorry for the awful view, but now I just haven't CAD software at home, and "Paint" has some limitations)

Sir,

If your refering to a "latrolet" fitting, then it is a 45 degree integrally reinforced welded pipe fitting, which are most commonly refered to as an "olet". This type of fitting is mounted on the side of a pipe header and welded into place and allows flow through the connection at 45 degrees laterally to the header. Some examples of this type of connection are drain headers, slurry lines, etc.

Please see the Bonney Forge website under Branch Connections(www.bonneyforge.com) for a better understanding on how they used in piping systems.

Bonneyforge!!! I couldn't remember the name. You're right, they "invented" olets (integrally reinforced welded pipe fittings)

GA.

Best regards
