pressure sensitive adhesives

07/07/2008 11:03 PM

I am searching for a medical grade pressure sensitive adhesive that is FDA cleared for skin contact. One of the main property requirements is that it must repeatedly stick and unstick for repeated use. Additionally, I am using an air dry system and a very rapid dry time(1-2minutes) is essential. Is anyone familiar with such a PSA or at least can someone point me in the right direction? Can anyone guide me as to the basic polymers or raw materials that would generally fit this application?

3M 1522 is an adhesive supplied between two carrier sheets. I chose it for my application because, in addition to its strong adhesive strength, it can be removed and re-applied many times with minimal degradation of its adhesive quality. It is medical grade rated for long term contact with the skin. I don't know whether it can be gotten in another form but a 3M rep would be able to tell you. They have quite a few medical grade adhesives so I'm sure they can come up with something to meet your requirements.
