Vegetable production drying issues

07/09/2008 3:30 PM

A bidirectional cross feed convyor feeds two infeed conveyors which in turn load two large NON drying systems. My issue is to try and fix the system because the birectional conveyor is always depositing too much charge in the dryers. This happens when the birectional conveyor stops moving in either direction to fill either dryer. How do I fix this so that I can deposit the right amount of charge every time into the infeeds?

Hard to tell without a diagram.

As I read it the bidirectional belt is being loaded continuously. When it stops to load a drier, the product piles up where it is being loaded, and then later loads too much product into the driers.

Here are two possible easy solutions. You will probably have to do both

1. Have a leveller (with sides) over the belt to spread out the product.

2. Decrease the quantity of product or the speed of the continuous loader.

The other possibility is to have an interlock designed that stops the continuous loader whenever the bi-directional belt stops.
