My new project is a design of transmission which is utilized in vehicle seating. In order to reduce the volume, worm and bevel gear is an optimum proposal. Here is some restrictions:
center distance a=20mm, reduction ratio=50:1,worm tip circle=9mm
After the calculation, the module is 0.65,the lead angle is 4.83 degrees and the pressure angle is 17.9 degrees. Moreover, the efficiency is 52% as I calculate it as worm and worm gear engagement. But the point is that the material of bevel gear is plastic, so I could not make sure whether my result is accurate. Besides that I also wondering which is the most significant factor to affect the efficiency?
Lead angle, pressure angle or friction coefficient? which one?
