Hello Guest,

If you are referring to the "msg box" as the Forum Text Editor box, you placed a message of two smileys in your message just above.

If you are not able to type any text into the Text editor box, then you may need to close your browser, and clear the Browser cache, then restart your Browser, and arrive back here again.

This normally enables you to access the Text Editor properly.

In an extreme condition, you may need to clear the Browser Cache, and also re-boot (Restart) your Computer, then arrive back here and all should be well.

Kind Regards....

And if you are trying to send a private message to someone, you need to register first...

I have the same problem when viewing CR4 from Lotus Notes. Maybe there are other software products that are lacking in this functionality. I have to re-open the page I want to reply in IExplorer to post messages.

Hello Bolton_Alan

Lotus Notes, Internet Explorer

Download a proper browser, which unlike both those, does comply with Internet Standard Webpages.

You may obtain the free, adware/malware free Mozilla Firefox from:http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/

Then get some Firefox addons, like colored tabs, and more.

Enjoy the browsing.

Kind Regards....

Sparkstation,

Thats all well and good on my home system, but at work the IT department have the OS nailed down so tight that you can't even change your desktop wallpaper.

What chance do I have of changing my browser???

Hello Bolton_Alan

Having done years of Computer and Network installations, I can understand the reluctance and inertia of the IT department to change.

They are perhaps frightened of something new.

You can always ask, and if the answer is No, then ask why.

You may send me a PM with the response, if you'd rather.

There is a tendency for IT departments to become living fossils, stuck in the past, without change.

Remember to ask politely but firmly, saying that Firefox is far more efficient use of bandwidth than either of the others. (It is, really it is)

Advise your progress, or lack thereof.

Kind Regards, from The Antipodes....
